Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Flowist. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. They work alongside Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of the app and controls if these Terms conflict with it on a licensing matter.

Using the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Flowist on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial enjoyment, for as long as you comply with these Terms.

Your account

Flowist creates an anonymous account on your device automatically — no sign-up required. You're responsible for whatever happens through your device while it's in your possession, and for keeping it reasonably secure.

Flowist Pro — subscriptions & billing

• Flowist offers one free flower identification. Beyond that, identifying flowers and reading a species' full story require Flowist Pro.
• Flowist Pro is available Weekly or Yearly, each with a 7-day free trial. Current pricing is always shown on the paywall inside the app and on the App Store listing.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. Canceling stops future renewals; it doesn't refund the current period.
• All billing, trials, and refunds are handled by Apple and subject to Apple's own policies — Flowist has no visibility into or control over your payment details.
• If pricing changes for an active subscription, you'll be notified in advance as required by the App Store.

Your content

Your photos and your collection belong to you. Scanning a flower gives Flowist the limited, temporary permission described in our Privacy Policy to process the cropped image for identification — nothing more, and the image is deleted right after.

The Meadow (public leaderboard)

If you join the Meadow, the gardener name you choose and your petal total are visible to other users. Choose a name that isn't offensive, impersonating, or someone else's — we may reset or remove names that violate this. Petal scores are computed entirely on our servers from verified identifications; they can't be edited or granted manually, by you or by us.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

• Try to disassemble, reverse-engineer, or extract the identification or story-generation services from the app;
• Automate, scrape, or abuse scanning or the Meadow leaderboard;
• Upload or submit photos containing illegal content, or content that isn't yours to share;
• Use Flowist in any way that could harm, disable, or overburden our services or other users' experience.

Disclaimers

Flowist is provided "as is." Identifications are generated by third-party recognition technology and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or simply wrong — never treat a result as certain, and never as guidance about whether something is safe to eat, touch, or use. We don't guarantee the app will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flowist's developer isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including, without limitation, any harm resulting from reliance on a flower identification or species story.

Termination

You may stop using Flowist and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms. Because Flowist accounts are anonymous, termination generally just means the app (and your local data, if you choose to delete it) stops working for that device.

Apple as a third party

Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for Flowist. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app to you; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Flowist changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the update.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Flowist's developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer-protection law in your own country requires otherwise.
